Hamilton police investigate after man found unconscious and bleeding

Hamilton police are investigating after a man was found unconscious on the ground and suffering from a head wound.

Police were called to the area of King St. West and Hess St. North shortly after 9 p.m. Sunday.

Officers located an unconscious man lying on the ground with blood pooling around his head.

Witnesses told police the man was involved in a verbal argument with two other men.

They said the man was punched and fell to the ground immediately.

The suspects fled the area before police arrived on scene.

The victim was taken to hospital where he required staples to the back of the head.

Police have not provided a suspect description at this time.
