Police seek man wanted in armed St. Catharines bank robbery
Niagara police are searching for a man wanted in connection with an armed robbery at a bank in St. Catharines Monday morning.
Officers say it happened shortly before 10:30 a.m. at the TD Canada Trust located in the plaza at 364 Scott St.
Investigators say the gunman allegedly demanded cash. He was last seen running away from the bank with an unknown amount of money and a firearm, heading towards Grenadier Court. Niagara police’s K9 unit searched the area but did not find the suspect.
He is described as being white and was wearing all black clothing, a black backpack and a black baseball hat at the time of the robbery.
The NRPS are currently on scene in the area of Scott St, from Vine St to Niagara St in St. Catharines for a robbery with a possible firearm. There is currently a heavy police presence, please avoid the area. The investigation is still in its early stages. 24-137340 pic.twitter.com/pCo38rckxJ

A spokesperson for TD Canada Trust told CHCH News that no one was injured during the incident.
The bank is temporarily closed as police continue their investigation.
If anyone sees the armed suspect, detectives are asking them to call 911 rather than approaching the man.
