Hamilton police seek grey sedan in pedestrian hit-and-run
Hamilton police are in search of a grey sedan involved in a pedestrian hit-and-run on Emerson Street Saturday evening that left a woman with serious injuries.
Around 10:30 p.m. on Dec. 7 a woman and her friend were crossing at a designated pedestrian crosswalk just north of Ward Avenue when a sedan — travelling southbound on Emerson Street — neglected to stop.
The car struck the victim and sent her airborne. Police reports say she landed “a significant distance from her initial position”.
The sedan was seen speeding off in a southbound direction. The license plate number is not known.
The pedestrian required hospitalization and sustained serious but non-life threatening injuries.
Hamilton police are asking motorists that were in the area — and property owners — to check their dashcams and CCTV for footage that may assist investigators.
Anyone with information about the hit-and-run is asked to contact the on-duty staff sergeant at 905-546-4725.
