A recent study from ICES shows that since single-event sports betting was legalized in Ontario in 2021, visits to emergency departments for gambling disorders have doubled. Michael Naraine, the president of the North American Society for Sport Management and an associate professor at Brock University discussed why that hike was predominantly among young men.
