Niagara police arrest London man following child abuse investigation

Niagara police have arrested a man from London following an investigation into reports of a sexual assault against a teenage girl in 2023.

Officers say they began the investigation in August of 2023 after receiving an allegation of a sexual assault by a man against a 15-year-old girl.

Investigators say the girl met the man online using Snapchat where the man used the usernames “jack.ishere” and “jack.ou”. The man then allegedly befriended the girl and arranged to meet her in person to provide her with cannabis.

In Aug. 2023 the girl met the man in the City of Welland, where the man allegedly sexually assaulted her inside of a dark four-door sedan that the man drove.

Detectives say they arrested 25-year-old Saad Jalal Ismail Aldakhi from London after he turned himself in at a Niagara regional police headquarters in Niagara Falls.

Aldakhi has been charged with sexual assault and sexual interference.

Aldakli was held in custody pending a video-bail hearing to a St. Catharines courthouse Friday.

Police say the investigation has led detectives that there may be more victims in the Niagara region, Toronto and Greater Toronto area.
