Americans visiting Niagara Falls, Ont., talk divisive U.S. election
Americans are heading to the polls on Tuesday to select their next president.
CHCH News travelled to Niagara Falls early in the day to gain some insight into which way people are leaning.
And, it appears opinions on the U.S. election are just as diverse as the people who were visiting the Canadian landmark.
Some of the voters polled by the CHCH team voted Trump, others went Harris.
Regardless of their political affiliation, many expressed the stark divisiveness this election has created.
“It depends if you’re a Democrat or Republican, there’s a lot of controversy with the election, but it has been keeping everyone very interested,” one U.S. resident told CHCH News.
Canadians have also been paying close attention to the race, with some concerned over the potential implications the next political party could have on this side of the border.
“I’m concerned with how it going to effect Canada and my family is down there in the states,” someone visiting the Falls said.
Watch parties and events are set to take place in community centres, theatres, bars and private homes across the country.
Official election results could take days while the ballots are counted and confirmed.
