Floating casino for Hamilton?

Plan calls for relocating Toronto restaurant ”Captain John’s”.
Could the now closed floating restaurant land in Hamilton Harbour as a casino?

Hamilton businessman Don Maga says he recently bought the ship which operated at the foot of Yonge Street for decades.

He would like to tow it to Pier 8 and set up a world class entertainment complex.

But Captain John Letnik, who’s owned the ship and run the restaurant since 1975, says the sale’s not final yet.

And Hamilton Port Authority says it has no firm agreement with Maga.

While city hall is unaware of his plans, Maga says he’ll share them with councillors.

Similar casino plans were unsuccessfully floated in 2002 and 2004.
