Hamilton police say human remains discovered in the water near Bayfront Park last month have been identified as those of a woman who was reported missing in January.

Officers say the remains were found in the water near Harbour Front Drive on March 14.

They say the deceased has been identified as 58-year-old Dorota Pruszewski.

Investigators say no foul play is suspected.

Pruszewski was reported missing from her home on Wood Street East on Jan. 13.

Police, her family and community members held search parties in the weeks that followed, but she was not found.

“Hamilton police extend their sincere thanks to all those who assisted in the search efforts and offer their condolences to Dorota’s family and loved ones during this difficult time,” officers wrote in a press release Monday.
