Hamilton’s Sherman Cut to be closed for construction until early September

The City of Hamilton is warning residents that the Sherman Cut will be closed for construction next Monday, until early September with weather permitting.

The city will be replacing corroded steel facing walls on the road under the Mountain Park Avenue — Bridge 087 — and Concession Street bridges — Bridge 319.

The construction will also include road resurfacing and other improvements along the Sherman Cut, from the Sherman Access to Crockett Street.

Local traffic and emergency services will need to use detours — westbound needing to use the Jolley Cut near Concession Street

City staff posted on X just after 10 a.m. that the crucial road will see construction starting April 27.
