Farmer dies in Fort Erie accident

A farmer — in his late 50’s — has died, after being trapped beneath corn in a silo in Fort Erie.

Emergency crews were called to a property on House Road — near Bowen Road just before noon.

Fort Erie firefighters had to cut through the silo to get the man out.

He was airlifted to a hospital in Welland, where he was pronounced dead.
