Residents of the Hamilton, Halton and Niagara regions should prepare for most non-essential city services and administrative buildings to be closed for Monday’s Civic Holiday.
Banks, city and town halls, Canada Post, most community centres, seniors’ centres, pools, arenas and libraries will be closed. But splash pads and city golf courses will remain open.
Most grocery stores, Rexall, Shoppers Drug Marts and restaurants will be open but make sure to call ahead.
The majority of LCBO locations will operate on reduced hours while only specific Beer Stores will remain open.
Hamilton
Waste collection for Hamilton will not be taking place on Monday. Instead it will take place on Tuesday and all subsequent days follow a one-day delay through Saturday.
Hamilton Street Railway (HSR) will be operating on a Sunday service schedule, with the last trips from downtown at 12 a.m.
There will be no service on routes 12 Wentworth and 42 Mohawk East. MyRide on-demand service and Trans-Cab service will align with the HSR Sunday schedule.
Disabled and Aged Regional Transit System (DARTS) will be running on holiday service hours with all subscription trips cancelled except for dialysis. Advanced booking is required to travel on Monday.
Four Beer Store locations will remain open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., including stores at 1111 Barton St. E., 150 Barton St. E., 959 Fennell Ave. E. and 673 Upper James St.
The Starlite Drive-In Theatre, the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum, Wild Waterworks, the Royal Botanical Gardens and Hamilton conservation areas will also be open.
Malls will be operating on reduced hours including Eastgate Square and Lime Ridge Mall.
Jackson Square will be closed but restaurants and the movie theatre will remain open.
The Tropical Greenhouse at Gage Park and all Hamilton civic museums will be closed.

Halton
Waste collection for Halton will not be taking place on Monday. Instead it will take place on Tuesday and all subsequent days follow a one-day delay through Saturday.
Oakville Transit will offer its holiday service schedule from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Burlington Transit will operate on a Sunday schedule and Milton Transit will not be operating.
Beer Store locations at 5051 New St. in Burlington and 236 Guelph St. in Georgetown will also stay open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Oakville Museum, Oakville Centre for the Performing Arts will be closed.
Malls will be operating on reduced hours including Oakville Place, Burlington Centre and the Milton Mall.
Niagara
There will be no changes to waste pickup on Monday for the Niagara region.
Niagara Transit will be running on a holiday schedule and GO Transit will be operating on a Saturday schedule.
Most businesses in Niagara Falls and Niagara-on-the-Lake remain open, as both the city and the town are designated tourism destinations.
However, the other 10 municipalities in Niagara, including St. Catharines and Welland, will have select municipal facilities shut down.
