Ontario to update online vehicle registration to include used cars

The Ontario government is making changes to their online vehicle registration system to enable the purchase and selling of used cars.
The Digital Dealership Registration (DDR) system was introduced in March of last year to allow dealerships to register new cars online, according to a press release from the province.
DDR also enables car dealerships to issue permits and licence plates directly to buyers, according to the Used Car Dealers Association of Ontario (UCDA).

This process reduces paperwork and delays for both dealers and consumers.
More than 7,000 Ontario dealerships that sell both new and used cars now have access to DDR.
4,200 transactions have been completed through DDR since it was launched with 380 dealerships currently registered.
