The Six Nations Chiefs are about to compete for the Major Series Lacrosse Championship, or as it is better known, the Mann Cup.
For the people of the Six Nations of the Grand River, lacrosse isn’t just a sport, it’s a way of life.
As Chiefs captain Cody Jamieson puts it, lacrosse is a counsellor, a friend, and a parental figure.
The Chiefs will be vying for their tenth Mann Cup title, and the Coquitlam Adanacs will be vying for their second.
The series is sure to be a battle, but as Chief Cleveland Thomas told the assembled gathering, “we hope everyone battles through adversity, and we hope everyone finishes the series well.”
