Investigators say the conductor of the train that crashed in Spain, was on the phone at the time, going 153 kilometers an hour, twice the speed limit at that particular spot.
79 people were killed when the train derailed on July 24.
The new findings were revealed by a Spanish court from the “black box” data recorders in the train. The court says the conductor was talking on the phone to an official of National Rail Company Renfe when the crash happened, and was looking at a paper document as well.
The conductor, Francisco Jose Garzon Amo, has been provisionally charged with multiple counts of negligent homicide.
