Joshua Kutryk to become 5th Canadian astronaut to perform spacewalk

Joshua Kutryk is expected to become the fifth Canadian astronaut to perform a spacewalk.

On Thursday, Kutryk will upgrade the International SpaceStation’s power generation system alongside NASA astronaut Anil Menon.

The spacewalk is scheduled for 8 a.m. and is set to last almost seven hours.

NASA says the two astronauts will install solar panels on the orbital outpost’s port side truss structure.

This marks Kutryk’s first mission in space. He is expected to perform two spacewalks.

A spacewalk hasn’t been performed by a Canadian since David Saint-Jacques in 2019.
