Porter Airlines announced another route Wednesday to connect John C. Munro Hamilton International Airport and Ottawa come June.

The airline said starting June 22, two daily flights operated by Porter’s 78-seat De Havilland Dash 8-400 aircraft will leave Hamilton to land at Ottawa International Airport.

One flight will leave Hamilton at 10:25 a.m. and arrive in Ottawa at around 11:29 a.m., and another will leave at 6:35 p.m. to land at the capital at around 7:39 p.m.

Flights returning from Ottawa will leave at 8:35 a.m. and arrive in Hamilton at around 9:43 a.m., and another flight leaves at 2 p.m. to arrive at Hamilton airport at around 3:08 p.m.

Earlier this week, Porter Airlines announced a connection between Hamilton and Montreal, including a strengthening of the growing Porter network of year-round destinations introduced last June.

“Hamilton’s momentum as a key transportation hub continues to build, and the addition of Porter Airlines’ daily service to our nation’s capital is another exciting step forward,” said Hamilton Mayor Andrea Horwath in a statement. “This new route makes it easier for Hamiltonians to travel for work, family, and leisure, while also welcoming more visitors to experience everything our city has to offer.”

“Strengthening connections like this supports local businesses, tourism, and economic growth, and reinforces the important role our airport plays in connecting Hamilton to the rest of the country,” said Horwath.
