Police seek man, 24, after man seriously injured in Welland stabbing

Niagara police are searching for a man following a stabbing in Welland Tuesday night that left one person in hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Officers responded shortly before 11 p.m. to a home in the area of McAlpine Ave. South and Hagar St. where they found a man in his 20s suffering serious stab wounds.

Paramedics brought him to a local hospital for further treatment.

Investigators say a male suspect arrived in a vehicle and entered the basement of the home.

The two men got into an argument, which escalated to a stabbing. The suspect left the scene before police arrived.

Officers found the suspect’s vehicle and have identified him as Paul Rodney Junior Witter, 24, of Toronto. He is wanted for aggravated assault, weapons dangerous and three counts of failing to comply with a release order.

Witter is described as Black, six-foot-tall and approximately 165 lbs with a slender build, black short braided hair, brown eyes, a goatee and mustache, and a scar near his left eye.

Police say Witter is also known as Jordan Holbert, Jordan Stackz or Junior Whitter.
