Ontario’s new distracted driving laws and penalties start today (January 1st).

Drivers convicted of distracted driving under the new laws will be fined $1000 and a 3 day suspension for a first offence.

Second offence, a 7 day suspension and $2000 fine.

For three or more offences, a 30 day suspension, $3000 fine and six demerit points.
