It’s back to school for most students in Ontario

It’s the most wonderful time of the year for some as it’s back to school for many elementary and secondary school students in the region.

The majority of public, Catholic, French public and French-Catholic school boards — including in Halton and Hamilton-Wentworth — hold their first day of classes on Tuesday.

The new Blanche E. Williams Public School in Brantford, Ont. opens its doors to elementary students today.

The Grand Erie District School Board school honours Blanche E. Williams who attended high school in the city in the 1880s, and was the first black woman to attend the University of Toronto.
