Niagara Parks audit

A scathing, new provincial audit says the Niagara Parks Commission broke its own expense rules on meals, travel and hospitality.

Minister of Tourism and Culture Michael Chan says some of the actions taken by former staff were quote “inappropriate and unacceptable.”

The audit was commissioned last December to investigate alleged impropriety at the agency, including reports of untendered contracts.

Chan has asked the interim chair to review the audit and decide if the matter needs to be looked into further, possibly to recover some money.
