Man struck on QEW

The province’s Special Investigations Unit has been called in after a pedestrian was struck by a transport truck on the QEW in Vineland.

The Toronto-bound lanes were shut down for more than five hours last night as police investigated.

Sources tell CHCH News there was an incident involving a man who pulled over near the weigh scales, and was then hit by a transport truck.

The man was taken to Hamilton General Hospital where he’s listed in serious condition.

The SIU was called in because an OPP officer was there when the man was hit.
