Man accused of killing pedestrian in east Hamilton crash

Hamilton police have arrested a 34-year-old man for careless driving in connection with the death of a 70-year-old woman earlier this year.

On Feb. 9, officers say a woman was near the intersection of Barton Street East and Kenilworth Avenue North when she was struck by a car attempting to turn to drive westbound on Barton.

The woman was brought to the hospital with critical injuries, where she later died, according to authorities.

Investigators say the driver, a 34-year-old Hamilton man, has been charged with careless driving causing death and is expected to appear in court next month.
