U.S. president-elect Donald Trump has been sentenced in his New York hush money case, with the judge declining to impose a punishment.

Trump appeared at the New York sentencing virtually from his Mar-a-Lago home Friday morning for 34 counts of falsifying business records.

The records were related to a payment to bury affair allegations that at-the-time threatened to cloud his 2016 presidential run.

Manhattan Judge Juan M. Merchan sentenced Trump to an “unconditional discharge”, meaning the conviction will stand but he will not face any further penalties, including jail time or fines.

Trump denies wrongdoing and has vowed to appeal the sentence.
