ArcelorMittal confirms that a Russian missile strike on its facility in Ukraine over the weekend killed two people and injured at least 13 others.

The company says one staff member and a contractor were killed in the strike.

It happened Saturday night at the company’s operation in the City of Kryvyi Rih, in central Ukraine.

The attack damaged the main energy complex and blast furnace production at the complex, which employs more than 14,000 workers, around 100 kilometres from the war’s front line.

The company said in a statement that at the time of the attack the plant was operational, but due to the damages, production processes were partially halted.

The company says that they are assessing the extent of the damage at the plant.
