A group of Mississauga teens has been barred from launching a gay straight alliance at their catholic high school.

The teens say their proposal was flatly turned down after approaching the principal at St. Joseph’s Catholic Secondary School.

But the board is denying this, saying the group was asked to work with “existing parameters.”

The controversy comes on the heels of a similar situation with the Halton Catholic School Board that was resolved with a policy that includes a positive space program for all groups.
