Elementary teachers to begin work to rule action Monday

(Updated) Ontario public elementary school teachers will begin a gradual work-to-rule campaign on Monday. Classes will continue as will most extracurricular activities; however teachers will not perform administrative functions, EQAO test prep or PA days related to provincial initiatives.
The president of the Elementary Teachers’ Foundation of Ontario, Sam Hammond, made the announcement this afternoon.
The move affects 800,000 elementary school students.
ETFO says the Liberal government has pushed them into this by stripping collective agreements, reducing their ability to use their own judgement when teaching, and compromising students’ learning.
