College strike looms

Picket lines could be up Thursday morning at Ontario’s community colleges.

About 8,000 support staff including cleaners, food service workers and registration officers will be in a legal strike position.

The bargaining chair for the colleges says they’re hopeful a negotiated settlement can be reached.

Some of these services may be contracted out at some schools and therefore would not be affected by a strike.
