Brantford Bulldogs host annual Family Day game

The Brantford Bulldogs hosted their annual Family Day game this afternoon, where they clinched a playoff spot after facing off against the Erie Otters.

In a 3-2 win, the Bulldogs are now the first team to earn a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

The game honouring the Bulldogs Foundation and the organization will be pulling a ticket for its 50/50 draw. The lucky winner took home a jackpot of over $47,000.

The money raised from the event goes towards local charities and programs aimed at supporting youth, like the foundation’s Adopt-A-School nutrition program.

Another program the foundation supports is Take a Shot: a charitable endeavor that was started by the the Brantford Community Hockey League.

The program aims provide kids a barrier-free, no-cost opportunity to learn how to skate and play hockey. The program aims at helping underserved and marginalized youth between the eight and 12.
