Niagara police have arrested a man in connection to a crash that killed a motorcyclist in St. Catharines last month.

Police say 60-year-old Darren Rogers of Pelham has been taken into custody and charged with dangerous operation causing death and careless driving causing death.

The charges stem from an incident that unfolded on May 23, when he was involved in a two-vehicle collision near Saint Paul Street West and Third Street South that claimed the life of a motorcyclist.

Authorities say the crash occurred when both vehicles collided in the middle of the intersection.

The 60-year-old woman who was operating the motorcycle was taken to a local hospital where she was tragically pronounced dead.

Rogers is scheduled to undergo a bail hearing June 20.

Anyone with information on the collision is asked to contact the department by calling 905-688-4111, option three, extension 1009569.
