Police riding buses

Police in London have found a new vantage point from which to detect and nab distracted drivers, the city’s buses.

A police spokeswoman says officers positioned on a bus can easily look into cars as they pass and report distracted drivers to nearby officers in police vehicles.

Police in other jurisdictions have used various tactics to nab distracted drivers, such as long-range photography and posing as panhandlers on medians.

$1,000 with up to 3 demerit points issued.
