Everything you need to know about Grimsby’s 2026 municipal election

Grimsby residents will go to the polls to cast their votes for the town’s next mayor and other municipal officials on Oct. 26, 2026.

Internet voting begins Oct. 5 at 12 p.m. and runs until election day at 8 p.m. 

The first advance poll will be open Oct. 14 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Major Refrigeration Peach King Centre. The second advance poll will be open Oct. 17 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the same location.

Jeff Jordan has been the Grimsby mayor since being elected in 2018. According to Jordan’s campaign website, he’s helped advance major priorities in health care, recreation, downtown planning and more in his two terms as mayor. He’s hoping to continue on the progress the town has made in a third term.

The deadline to submit or withdraw nominations was Aug. 21 at 2 p.m.

Candidates are listed alphabetically by last name alongside a brief bio. This page will be updated regularly as the race develops, and individual ward candidate lists will follow the same format.

Grimsby’s mayoral race

• Veronica Charrois became the Ward 3 councillor after being elected in 2022. Her platform focuses on protecting the small town character, responsibly managing growth, quality of life and more.
• Simon Duong is a business owner and realtor. According to his campaign website, Duong believes Grimsby has had issues with executing ideas. He says as mayor he will see through and execute the good ideas that are brought to city governance. His platform focuses on fiscal accountability, smart growth, protecting Grimsby’s future and following through on promises.
• Jeff Jordan (incumbent) is seeking his third consecutive term as mayor of Grimsby. His platform focuses on transparent government, strong infrastructure, environmental protection, quality of life and more.
• Michelle Seaborn has been the Regional Councillor representing Grimsby since 2022.
