Everything you need to know about Niagara Falls’ 2026 municipal election

Niagara Falls residents will go to the polls to cast their votes for the city’s next mayor and other municipal officials on Oct. 26, 2026.

The full list of key dates for the election can be found on the city’s website.

Niagara Falls Mayor Jim Diodati is seeking re-election for his fifth term. This time around, the incumbent’s platform focuses on more housing, a new $3.6 billion hospital, family doctor recruitment and more.

The deadline to submit or withdraw nominations was Aug. 21 at 2 p.m.

Candidates are listed alphabetically by last name alongside a brief bio. This page will be updated regularly as the race develops, and individual ward candidate lists will follow the same format.

Niagara Falls’ mayoral race

Jim Diodati (incumbent) has been the mayor of Niagara Falls since 2010. Before being voted in, Diodati served on the Niagara Falls City Council for two terms. He is current seeking his fifth consecutive term as mayor.
Lori Lococo has served as a city councillor in Niagara Falls for eight years.
Michael Lucid is the founder of an e-bike rental business in Niagara Falls. Lucid’s platform is focused on tax accountability, public safety, infrastructure and more.
Paul Manning is an author, entrepreneur, former military and police investigator. His platform focuses largely on the city’s financial status; taxes, auditing the previous four years, reviewing city finances and more.
Kevin Martineau has worked as a barber in the community for the past 15 years. His platform focuses on protecting freedom of speech and freedom of religion, safer streets, infrastructure, the housing crisis and more.
