Hamilton police release photo of West Harbour GO stabbing suspect

Hamilton police have released a photo of a man wanted in connection with a stabbing at West Harbour GO Station.

On July 23 at around 4:50 p.m., officers responded to a disturbance at the GO Station, located at 353 James Street North. 

Police say initial reports indicated that a man had been involved in a physical altercation and was bleeding.

Officers located the victim, a 22-year-old from Hamilton, who was transported to hospital with a non-life-threatening stab wound.

Investigators have determined that the altercation began after an unknown man started going through the victim’s belongings and ignored repeated requests to leave.

They say the suspect then assaulted the victim while armed with an edged weapon, causing the victim’s injury before fleeing the area.

Detectives say the suspect is described as a light-skinned man who is around 30 years old, is around five-foot-nine tall and has a balding hairline with a dark beard.

Police say he was last seen wearing a green tank top, light-coloured shorts and dark sunglasses.

Investigators are asking anyone who witnessed the incident or who has information that may assist with the investigation to contact the on-duty Division 10 Staff Sergeant at 905-546-4725.
