Residents of the Hamilton, Halton and Niagara regions should prepare for government offices, banks and most major grocery grocery stores to be closed for Thanksgiving Monday.
All Beer Store, LCBO locations and Canada Post mail delivery will also be closed.
Shoppers Drug Mart locations will have modified hours and most restaurants will be open for dining, takeout and delivery, but be sure to call ahead.
On Monday, all administrative offices and non-emergency federal, provincial and municipal offices will be closed.
GO Transit will be running on a Saturday schedule.
Hamilton
Hamilton Civic Museums, Hamilton Farmers’ Market, recreation centres and arenas, seniors centres and the Tropical Greenhouse at Gage Park will be closed.
Lime Ridge Mall, Eastgate Square and Jackson Square will all be closed.
Hamilton Public Library locations will be closed on both Sunday and Monday.
Splitsville bowling, most convenience stores and gas stations, YMCA locations, movie theatres, local parks, trails and conservation areas including Christie Lake will also remain open.
Hamilton Street Railway (HSR) will operate on a Sunday schedule with the last trips from downtown at 12 a.m.
The customer service counter at 36 Hunter St. E. will be closed and there will be no service on routes 12 Wentworth and 42 Mohawk E.
MyRide on-demand service and Trans-Cab service will align with HSR Sunday schedules.
Disabled and Aged Regional Transportation System (DARTS) will run on holiday service hours, with all subscription trips cancelled, except dialysis. Advanced booking is required for travel on Monday.
Garbage and recycling will be collected one day later. Transfer stations and community recycling centres will be closed.

Halton
The Milton Mall, Burlington Centre, Mapleview Mall and Oakville Place will all be closed on Monday. However, the Bramalea City Centre will remain open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Some smaller grocery stores including Rabba Fine Foods will also remain open.
Conservation parks such as Crawford Lake, Hilton Falls, Kelso, Mount Nemo, Mountsberg and Rattlesnake Point will be open.
Oakville Transit will be running on a holiday service schedule from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Burlington Transit will operate on a Sunday schedule from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Milton Transit will not be operating on Monday.
No garbage pickup will take place on Monday, with all waste collection taking place one day later than usual.

Niagara
Most craft breweries that are typically open on Mondays will be open, but be sure to call ahead.
Most Niagara Falls including Clifton Hill and Niagara-area tourist attractions will be open, including Bird Kingdom, Niagara City Cruises, Niagara Takes Flight, Ripley’s Believe it or Not and more.
Canada One Outlets in Niagara Falls and the Outlet Collection in Niagara-on-the-Lake will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
However, the Pen Centre and Fairview Mall in St. Catharines will be closed.
Parks and trails will be open along with some nature-oriented experiences, including Queen Victoria Park, Botanical Gardens, Whirlpool Jet Boat Tours, White Water Walk.

Microtransit and Specialized Service:
There are no changes to the curbside collection schedule due to the holiday.
However, the Niagara Road 12 Landfill and Drop-off Depot in West Lincoln will be closed.
Bridge Street Drop-off Depot in Fort Erie, Humberstone Landfill and Drop-off Depot in Welland, and Thorold Yard Household Hazardous Waste Drop-off Depot will remain open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
