Police investigate Burlington hit-and-run that left man seriously injured

Halton police are investigating a hit-and-run crash in Burlington that left a man in hospital with serious injuries.

On Wednesday at around 11:25 p.m., a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle travelling westbound on Fairview Street, just east of Brant Street.

Officers say the adult male pedestrian was transported to hospital with serious injuries.

Investigators say the collision took place in the right (curb) lane of Fairview Street.

Detectives say the vehicle did not remain at the scene and was last seen travelling westbound on Fairview Street at a high rate of speed.

Police say that witnesses described the vehicle as a dark-coloured, compact-sized SUV. The driver and passenger were both described as men around the age of 20.

Anyone who witnessed the collision or who may have information or dashcam footage from the area at the time of the crash is asked to contact the police.
