Man, woman in car approach girls in separate incidents: Hamilton police

Police are asking for the public’s help following two suspicious vehicle-related incidents involving girls last week in southern Hamilton.

On June 18 around 9:45 a.m., a black SUV stopped a young female in the area of Marion Street and Spitfire Drive.

Police say the vehicle was driven by a woman, with a man in the front passenger seat. The driver allegedly spoke to the girl about dating the man. The girl told the woman that she had a boyfriend and walked away.

A similar incident happened the following day on June 19 shortly after 9 a.m. This time a white SUV was seen in the area of Marion Street and Longview Court.

The vehicle was again driven by a woman, with a man in the front passenger seat. The woman attempted to start a conversation with a different girl who immediately left the area.

Police say that although the vehicles involved were different colours, the female driver and male passenger are believed to have similar descriptions in both incidents.

The woman is described as being of East Indian descent with brown skin, brown eyes and having a thin face with long black hair in a low ponytail. She was wearing glasses and a black shirt with a grey cardigan. Her age is estimated to be 47 to 60 years old.

The man is described as being of East Indian descent with brown skin and dark eyes. He reportedly has a large build with thick, black curly hair and beard. His age is estimated at 32 to 47 years.

Hamilton police are asking residents and motorists in the area to review any video footage from around the time of both incidents.
