A Hamilton police officer has been arrested and charged for breaching a court-ordered agreement.

Investigators say the same officer was previously charged in August 2025 in connection with a “historic domestic incident.” Bail was opposed in that case, leading to the officer being released on conditions.

The investigation, led by the Halton Regional Police Service, has resulted in the 47-year-old officer being charged with Breach of Recognizance.

Authorities say the involved officer is an 18-year-member of the Hamilton Police Service.

Hamilton police add that they will not be providing additional information since the matter is now before the courts.
