Police investigate suspected targeted shooting at Stoney Creek condo

Hamilton police are investigating a suspected targeted shooting that took place at a Stoney Creek condo building.

Officers say the shooting happened on Sunday at around 7:30 a.m. in the area of Green and North Service roads.

Investigators say at this time, there is limited information to provide, but they believe that the shooter fled in a motor vehicle westbound on North Service Road towards the QEW.

Detectives say the vehicle used is believed to be a black four-door Hyundai Sonata. There is no suspect description at this time.

CHCH News obtained a notice letter that the condo building manager sent to the residents of 461 Green Road.

The letter says a firearm was discharged in the rear parking lot of the building.

It says an emergency meeting will also be held to review current security measures as well as to discuss implementing enhanced access control and expanded camera coverage throughout the building.
