Halton police are investigating after schools across Burlington and Oakville received an anonymous bomb threat Thursday morning.

Officers say at around 6 a.m. schools belonging to both school boards and a private school reported receiving a bomb threat.

Investigators say a generic email was sent to the school boards, listing the following schools as targets of the threat:

Halton District School Board:

  • Oakville Trafalgar High School
  • White Oaks Secondary School
  • Garth Webb Secondary School
  • Iroquois Ridge High School
  • Abby Park High School

Halton Catholic District School Board:

  • Holy Trinity Catholic Secondary School
  • St. Ignatius of Loyola Catholic Secondary School
  • St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Secondary School

Private School:

  • Appleby College

Over two hours later, at around 10:47 a.m., officers say they completed thorough searches of the affected schools and found no credible evidence to suggest a threat to the safety of the faculty, students or the public.

Police say all schools have resumed normal operations, but an investigation into the threat remains ongoing.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police and reach out to detectives at 905-825-4777 ext. 2216.
