Three people charged after vehicle reported stolen from Milton Toyota dealership

Halton police have charged three people and recovered three stolen vehicles after one vehicle was reported stolen from a Toyota car dealership in Milton last month.

Officers say on July 21, they attended Milton Toyota at 1245 Steeles Ave. East, after they received reports that a Toyota Sequoia was stolen from the lot during the early morning hours.

The next day, investigators were able to locate the stolen Toyota in North York, where the vehicle was recovered in a shipping container.

Three suspects were taken into custody.

Police say a Toyota Tundra and a Honda CR-V were also recovered, both confirmed as stolen from the Greater Toronto Area.

As a result of the investigation, officers have charged:

• Joel Hinson, a 66-year-old from Brampton, with three counts of possessing property obtained by crime over $5,000;
• Bright Mensah, a 37-year-old from Brampton, with three counts of possessing property obtained by crime over $5,000 and failing to comply with a probation order and;
• Isaac Boamah, a 34-year-old from North York, with three counts of possessing property obtained by crime over $5,000.

Officers say each accused was released on an undertaking with a future court date in Milton.
