Halton police looking for man involved in Georgetown shooting

Halton police say they have identified and are searching for a second suspect connected to a shooting in Georgetown, Ont. earlier in January.

On Jan. 8 at approximately 3:45 p.m., officers responded to a residence in the area of John and Victoria streets after receiving a report of a woman being shot.

The woman was transported to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

As a result of an investigation, 19-year-old Emma MacLean of Georgetown was arrested and charged with firearm related offences.

After continuing to investigate the shooting, authorities have identified 41-year-old James Chadrey Hume of no fixed address as being involved in the incident.

Human is now wanted on the following charges:

  • Unlawful Possession of a Firearm
  • Discharge Firearm with Intent
  • Assault with a Weapon
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order

Detectives say Hume is known to frequent the Halton Hills area and is considered to be armed and dangerous.

Anyone who sees Hume is being advised to not approach him, but rather contact police by calling 911.
