Brantford police charged a woman Saturday in connection with a fire at a home in Brantford last Monday.
Firefighters were called to a blaze at a home on Darling Street near Drummond Street at around 4 a.m. on Nov. 17.
Three young men inside were able to escape and call 911.
Investigators determined that the fire had started in the basement.
Detectives then issued an arrest warrant, after identifying the suspect.
At around 7:40 a.m. on Saturday, officers had received a call that someone was trying to start a fire in a backyard firepit at a home on Erie Street.
Police soon arrived and arrested a 33-year-old Brantford woman, and charged her with offences including arson with a disregard for human life, arson in damage to property, and for breaking and entering a place to commit an indictable offence.
The woman was held for a bail hearing at an undisclosed date and location.
