A plan to transform Niagara-on-the-Lake’s historic Randwood Estate into an inn and art centre, has passed another hurdle.
The building, which sits on a 13 acre site in the old part of town, has been used for everything from a think tank for the Niagara Institute to a school for a religious organization.
Neighbours had voiced opposition to the plan but some last minute concessions by current owners, renowned artist Trisha Romance and her husband Gary Peterson, convinced city staff to support zoning changes needed to proceed with the project.
They must still be approved by council who meet next week.
