Fake cop scam in Toronto

Toronto police say a man is posing as a police officer.

Police say he has approached several men in their 60 to 70’s, asked them to show him their identification, then steals money from their wallets as he questions them.

The suspect white, about 50 to 60 years old and is 5′ 10″ with a medium to heavy build.

He has short grey hair and a mustache.

Police are reminding people that even plainclothes officers will present a police badge and warrant card when identifying themselves.
