C. Difficle outbreak in Guelph
Following outbreaks in the Niagara region, there’s now an outbreak at C. difficile at Guelph General Hospital.
Seven cases were detected in May, with another four cases in June.
That’s up from the usual one or two cases a month.
One patient’s death is believed related to the bacterial infection.
The hospital’s president says it could be at least six weeks before the outbreak is over.
