Cst Garrett Styles laid to rest
More than eight thousand mourners came to say goodbye Tuesday to York Regional Police Constable Garrett Styles.
It was exactly one week ago that Styles was dragged and pinned under a minivan he’d pulled over on the hunch it was stolen.
After what must have been the most difficult week of her life, Styles’ widow Melissa delivered a brief, brave and memorable eulogy during the service.
She said he was one of the lucky ones who grew up to do exactly what he wanted to do: be a police officer.
Melissa says from now on, her children’s first thought in the morning, and their last thought at night will be their father.
