Stolen van crashes into Halton police cruiser, three people arrested

Halton police have made three arrests after a stolen vehicle crashed into a police cruiser in Burlington.

A gas station employee contacted police to report a fuel theft around 1 p.m. Tuesday.

Police discovered the vehicle involved had previously been reported stolen in Toronto.

Officers located the van in a parking lot at the intersection of Guelph Line and Upper Middle Rd. around 1:25 p.m.

Police pulled behind the stolen vehicle but the van slammed into the cruiser and struck several other vehicles as it attempted to flee the scene.

An off-duty officer was also in the parking lot and helped police arrest the three occupants.

Gurdip Singh, 27, Gursimranpreet Singh, 20, and Amarpal Singh, 30, all facing charged including possession of stolen property over $5,000 and theft.

They were held in custody pending a court appearance in Milton.
