Former city of Hamilton employee charged with stealing, re-selling city-owned iPads

First Published:

Hamilton police say a 30-year-old man is facing charges after a number of iPads were stolen from the city of Hamilton and then re-sold online.

Back in December, police launched an investigation into allegations that property belonging to the city of Hamilton had gone missing.

Police were told several iPads had been stolen and then sold using local buy and sell platforms.

A man who worked for the city has been charged in connection with the theft and trafficking of the property.

The city of Hamilton says the man is no longer an employee.

Police are trying to track down the stolen goods. They are asking anyone who may have purchased an iPad on a local buy and sell platform in the past three months to contact Det. Cst. Jennyfer Carranza-Mejia at 905-546-3818.
