Tributes, tears for Sgt Ryan Russell

Canada’s largest city came to a quiet standstill Tuesday, as thousands of police officers, emergency workers, and ordinary citizens from across the country marched down one of the busiest streets in North America to pay tribute to Sergeant Ryan Russell.

The Toronto police officer was killed last week after being hit by a stolen snowplow. His death is the first in nearly nine years for the force. As people remembered the 35 year old father and husband — his wife summoned the strength to speak in his memory.
