Toronto man wanted for attempted murder after Hamilton motel stabbing

A Toronto man is wanted for attempted murder following a stabbing at the Red Rose Motel in Hamilton nearly two weeks ago.

Hamilton police responded to the report of the stabbing around 11 p.m. on Jan. 2 at the motel on Queenston Road near Nash Road.

Investigators say a woman was pulled from a car and attacked by a man known to her. She was then rushed to hospital for treatment and is now recovering from her serious injuries.

Hamilton police’s homicide unit has since taken over the case and identified 34-year-old Joel Benjamin as the attempted murder suspect.
